Run by UniSA Ventures on behalf of UniSA, the Challenge encouraged UniSA Staff and Students to enter for the chance to win a UniSA Ventures Slingshot Grant to support the commercial development of their software idea.
By identifying research with solid commercial potential, and connecting with industry to license technology or create a spin-out company, we help UniSA’s researchers share their innovations with the world.
Review invention disclosures from UniSA members and assess suitability of IP for commercialisation
Review UniSA IP and if it meets requirement for patent and commercial potential, apply for patents on behalf of inventors, UniSA and other stakeholders
Identify investors and company structure to form spin-out company, including the developing the team to run the company
Seek and engage potential industry partners to license relevant IP for translation to industry or end users for commercial and social benefit respectively
Provide advice to UniSA members on IP considerations during applications for research grants, contract research and consulting projects
Contact and attract investors on behalf of UniSA members to invest and translate IP through licensing or spin-out companies
