UniSA Staff and Students are encouraged to enter the UniSA Software Innovation & Commercialisation Challenge 2020 for the chance to win a UniSA Ventures Slingshot Grant to support the commercial development of their software idea.
The UniSA Software Innovation and Commercialisation Challenge (SICC) 2020 is a competition run by UniSA Ventures on behalf of UniSA to identify a number of UniSA software related innovations that have societal impact or commercial translation potential.
Prizes include: First Round $100 project prizes; Finalist $1000 project prizes; Winners will have their software innovation funded by a UniSA Ventures Slingshot grant of up to a maximum of AUD $100,000 and will work with a UniSA Ventures Commercial Manager to progress the commercialisation potential of their UniSA research.
The competiton is open to ALL UniSA Academic Units and disciplines, and cross-disciplinary projects are encouraged to apply.

There are three prize rounds to be awarded in the Competition:
First Round – Recognising the efforts of applicants, the first fifty eligible project entries correctly submitted will receive a $100 Prize.
Finalists – Up to ten Finalist project entries will receive a $1000 Prize and a Finalist Certificate.
Winners – Up to five Winners will receive a UniSA Ventures Slingshot Grant investment of up to $100,000 for the commercialisation of their project, a Winners Trophy and a Winners Certificate.

1. Go to the UniSA SICC 2020 SharePoint Library and download a working copy of the application form: https://mymailunisaedu.sharepoint.com/sites/USAVSCIC2020/UniSA%20Software%20Innovation%20and%20Commercialisation%20Ch/Forms/AllItems.aspx.
Use this working copy to work with your collaborators to gather all necessary data before commencing the online application form (submission of the working copy will not be accepted as an Eligible Entry). If you are not able to login to download the working copy application form please email unisaventures@unisa.edu.au.
2. UniSA staff Lead Applicant to send an email to unisaventures@unisa.edu.au to request the support of a UniSA Ventures Commercialisation Manager for their project entry (this is strongly encouraged).
3. Once the working application form is complete and ready, submit final application in the ONLINE Application Form on this website. The application portal is open from 19 August to midnight 1 October 2020.
4. Shortlisted Finalists will be informed in early-mid October 2020.
5. Finalist Project teams will be invited to present and attend a Q&A session with the Assessment Panel. The presentation and Q&A sessions will be held in mid to late October 2020 and be approximately 45 minutes duration for each Finalist project.
6. Winners will be notified in late October to early November 2020.
